Thanks for playing & Final Update!

This is likely the last update for So Long as We Shall Both Live, as I knew its scope in the story it wanted to tell. Brief, to the point, hitting hard and fast.

What I've done in this last update is try and build more scaffolding for the event that happens leading into the second act, and remove some of the fat from the second and third act. It already hit the climax of the narrative at that pivotal point-- the snowball down to the end could stand to arrive faster. I removed roughly around 10%, but given that was backloaded that should end up like, 20% faster towards the conclusion following the climax.

It was a pleasure to do this game jam, to try and craft a narrative that stood out from the rest given the shared assets-- how could one make their own cast's names linger at the forefront of the mind even when playing other's games-- and I think I successfully did so, so that was a pleasure.

I also wanted to show off some of my range, and I think I still managed to do so, even if I didn't quite take an appropriate second pass at the work at the time (outside of bug hunting/other presentational issues). This was sort of my arthouse project while also being one that I wanted to spend a little more care in each moment. The smaller scope let me put more polish within my wheelhouse for the more programmatic elements and try out some flourishes I don't necessarily employ in my regular single-person efforts. It got me a bit closer to seeing some of the tools I could implement, even if I sort of write according to my own limitations.

I'm looking forwards to taking the lessons I've learned from doing this, and if anyone perhaps wants to collab in the future, let me know :p (A lesson I learned at the very end that I didn't act on during the jam was to be open about the interest in working with others hehe).
